Fodor's Pocket Nantucket (Fodor's Pocket Nantucket)
Published in Paperback by Fodors Travel Pubns (08 May, 2001)
Average review score:

The only guide you need...After looking and buying a number of bulky guides,(many which focused on Cape Cod or Martha's Vinyard) I finally found the only concise, detailed and rich in description guide to Nantucket out there. A bonus is that its tiny enough to fit in your purse or pocket as you walk or bike around the island. A++

Folk Songs of Old New England
Published in Textbook Binding by Shoe String Press (January, 1962)
Average review score:

folk songs of new englandExcellent book. Two questions though, why don't you offer this song book in a spiral bound? Have you ever read and tried to play music out of a paperback! Duh, most instruments take two hands to play with, plus a hankerchief. How am I suppose to hold the book open?
Thanks for listening,
Dr. Jazzbo ("Sneezey") Bumfletcher, a., CH;U., Esq..

Foraging New England: Finding, Identifying, and Preparing Edible Wild Foods and Medicinal Plants from Maine to Connecticut
Published in Paperback by Falcon Publishing Company (01 May, 2002)
Average review score:

Nature's BountyTom Seymour, acclaimed as a naturalist from the State of Maine, has written a fascinating survey of nature's bounty. This book is highly recommended to readers with an interest in ecology and the world of nature. The author supplies much hard to find information concerning nature's many hidden treasures: edible plants, medicinal plants, and the like. The book features superb color plates, cross-referencing, and a writing style that says "keep reading...."

Forever Wild: Maine's Magnificent Baxter State Park
Published in Hardcover by Down East Books (December, 1900)
Average review score:

Very attractive pictorials of Baxter Park scenery.I received a copy of this book as a gift and enjoyed it very much. The book has many views of the mountain scenery that are not in other books. The author obviously spent time hiking the trails to find good scenes. Picture quality is generally excellent. People who want to get a taste of the varied scenery will enjoy it.

Four Short Blasts: The Gale of 1898 And The Loss of the Steamer Portland
Published in Paperback by The Provincial Press (15 August, 1998)
Average review score:

This is a piece of history thrillingly and accurately told.I for one like history to be both accurate and dramatic - it so seldom is both. In this book it is. The research is meticulous and exceedingly well presented. The crisp, engaging style blends perfectly with the fine but terrifying paintings depicting the doomed ship. The newspaper portraits of passengers and crew harmonize with the graphic, yet deeply compassionate tale of human disaster. Also, the cover of the book is aesthetically powerful and highly effective. I enthusiastically recommend this fine work.

From The Heart Of Our House
Published in Hardcover by Cookbook Marketplace (September, 1998)
Average review score:

From the Heart of our HouseThis is a great cookbook published by the Ronald McDonald House in Providence, RI. The book devotes an entire chapter to local favorites, Italian cuisine and seafood dishes. Other chapters include appetizers, soups and salads, breads, main dishes and desserts. The recipes are easy to follow and you won't find yourself running to the store for many special ingredients, they are already in your pantry. There are several "to die for" dessets including a white chocolate cheese cake and a blueberry teacake. The book makes a great gift too with its colorful artwork and bold red cover.

Frommer's New England's Best-Loved Driving Tours (Serial)

if you need to get away....Recently I went on a mystery New England road trip...so I decided to purchase a book to aid me along the way. This one came in quite handy! We went across Massachusetts, up Vermont, down New Hampshire, and even caught a glimpse of Maine--and had a great time, thanks to Frommer's! we were able to go on the back roads and see how it is really in those states, and at the same time incorporate some of the "must sees", making our trip more unforgettable than ever! Thanks to Frommer's for doing such a great job, making it easier for us to see what it's like with the great pictures, and easy directions to get there without any difficulty at all. If you need to get away...pick this book, and have a great time!

Frommer's Wonderful Weekends from Boston (Frommer's Wonderful Weekends)
Published in Paperback by Hungry Minds, Inc (01 October, 1998)
Average review score:

Stands out among New England B&B BooksAmong the MANY B&B guides to the Northeast, I found this one the most helpful for deciding where to go from Boston. Helfpul facts include travel times to the destinations, Nantucket vs. Martha's Vineyard, and other off-the beaten track locales (outside of Massachusetts). The book has helpful editorial, but more meaty that the general "quaint inn, hospitable couple serves muffins".
Highly recommended if you'll be doing a lot of traveling around Boston on your own!
